Junior Executive (ATC) – Air Traffic Control: The most prestigious post, responsible for safe and efficient management of air traffic. Requires BE/BTech in Electronics, Telecom, or equivalent with minimum 60% marks.

Junior Executive (Electronics): Responsible for maintenance of communication, navigation, and surveillance systems at airports. Requires BE/BTech in Electronics/Telecom/IT.

Junior Executive (IT): Manages the airport's IT infrastructure, server management, cybersecurity, and digital systems. Requires BE/BTech in Computer Science/IT or MCA.

Junior Executive (Civil): Handles airport construction and maintenance projects across AAI airports. Requires BE/BTech in Civil Engineering with strong project management skills.

Vacancy Count & Pay Scale

Total vacancies: 400+ across all disciplines. The pay scale is E-1 Level (,40,000 – ,1,40,000) with a basic pay of ,40,000. After including DA, HRA, and other allowances, the total CTC is approximately ,8–10 lakhs per annum. This makes it one of the highest-paying central government entry-level positions in India and one of the best PSU jobs for engineering graduates.

Selection Process

Online Examination: A 150-question online exam covering Reasoning & Aptitude, English, General Knowledge, and Technical Subject Knowledge. Duration is 3 hours with negative marking.

Voice Test (for ATC only): ATC candidates must pass a voice and diction test as clear communication in English is an absolute requirement for air traffic control operations. Your pronunciation, clarity, and presence of mind under simulated traffic scenarios will be tested.

Medical Examination: Candidates must meet the DGCA Class 3 Medical Standards for ATC posts and standard AAI medical fitness norms for other posts. Vision, hearing, and cardiovascular health are particularly important.

Document Verification is the final step before issuance of appointment letters.

Posting Locations & Career Growth

After selection, JEs can be posted at any AAI airport - from Leh to Andaman, from Mumbai to Guwahati. ATC officers undergo mandatory training at AAI's ATC Training Academy in Allahabad before independent deployment. Career growth from JE to Manager, Senior Manager, General Manager, and Executive Director is clearly defined. Top performers can also be deputed to ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) for international assignments. The salary at senior levels (GM level) crosses ,2 lakhs per month.
