About NABARD

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is India's apex development financial institution for promoting sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development. Posts and Streams

Salary and Benefits

NABARD Grade A officers are placed in the pay scale of ,44,500 – ,89,150. Starting basic pay is ,44,500. With HRA (16–27%), DA (~46%), CCA, and other allowances, the gross monthly salary is approximately ,75,000–,85,000. Annual CTC including PF contribution, gratuity, LTC, and medical is approximately ,12–14 lakhs per annum. NABARD also provides furnished accommodation (or HRA), staff car facility for senior officers, subsidized canteen, and annual staff welfare events. The pension scheme is NPS-linked with NABARD's contribution. Exam Pattern

Phase 1 (Online Prelims, 200 marks, 2 hrs): English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Decision Making, General Awareness (including agri/rural awareness), Computer Knowledge, and Economic & Social Issues.

Phase 2 (Descriptive + Objective, 200 marks, 2 hrs): Development and Social Welfare Schemes (50 marks), Agriculture and Rural Development (50 marks), English Writing Skills - Essay, Précis, and Comprehension (50 marks), and Economic and Social Issues with Rural Background (50 marks). This phase requires deep knowledge of rural India, government schemes (MGNREGA, PM-KISAN, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, DBT, FPO policy), and Indian agricultural economics.

Phase 3 – Interview: A structured personality and knowledge interview at NABARD's regional/headquarters office. Tests your depth of knowledge in agriculture, rural development, and banking/finance. Final merit = Phase 2 (80%) + Interview (20%).
