The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, responsible for the management of a network of over 50,000 km of National Highways out of 1,15,000 km in India. NHAI is currently executing some of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the world, including the Bharatmala Pariyojana and massive greenfield expressways.

Working as a Deputy Manager (Technical) puts you directly in charge of overseeing these multi-billion-dollar highway projects. You will be interacting with top-tier private contractors (like L&T, Afcons), ensuring quality control, clearing land acquisition hurdles, and managing massive budgets.

Eligibility: Civil Engineers Only

Educational Qualification: A Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. NHAI strictly recruits only Civil engineers for the technical cadre.

GATE Score: A valid GATE score in the Civil Engineering (CE) paper is an absolute necessity.

Age Limit: Maximum 30 years for General category, with standard relaxations for reserved categories.

Salary and Selection

Pay Scale: The post is placed in Pay Level 10 of the 7th CPC (,56,100 – ,1,77,500), which is equivalent to a Group 'A' central government officer.

Gross Monthly Salary: The starting gross salary is approximately ,85,000 to ,90,000 per month, along with government perks like CGHS medical facilities, LTC, and housing or HRA.

Selection Process: In a major departure from other PSUs, NHAI frequently selects candidates solely on the basis of their GATE score. There is no written exam and often no personal interview. If you have an exceptionally high GATE rank, you directly secure the job after document verification.
