National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited is a Maharatna PSU and the absolute leader in India's power generation sector, contributing to over a quarter of the country's electricity requirement. The role of an Executive Trainee (ET) in NTPC is one of the most highly sought-after jobs by engineering graduates in India.

As an ET, you will be posted at one of NTPC's massive coal-based super thermal power plants, gas-based stations, or upcoming mega solar parks. The job involves managing plant operations, maintenance of heavy turbines and boilers, and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the national grid.

Eligibility and Pay

Educational Qualification: B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks. A valid GATE score is mandatory.

Age Limit: 27 years for the General category.

Salary: Placed in the E-1 grade (,60,000 – ,1,80,000), the gross salary is highly lucrative. With DA, HRA, and a cafeteria allowance of 35%, a newly inducted ET earns around ,1,00,000 per month. NTPC is also famous for its massive Performance Related Pay (PRP) bonuses paid annually.
